I love Les Misérables. After spending four years of my life reading that book - don't let that reflect poorly on the book I just didn't want to finish it because I could never again read it for the first time- my copy was a bit worse for wear, so I decided that Mr. Hugo wouldn't mind if I repurposed this particular copy and used it to cover a set of drawers I found at an estate sale this weekend, $25.
The processes was fairly simple. I washed off the drawers and let them dry. Painted several coasts of white paint. Then stuck book pages on the wet paint of the drawers. I covered it with Mod Podge, which is pretty sturdy and will hold up over time. I painted the handels black. The whole process took about 3 days.
